Thitan Wins Startup World Cup Bangladesh

Thitan has won the Bangladesh Regional Grand Finale of Startup World Cup 2026, securing the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the global competition in San Francisco, USA. Green Polaris Limited became the first runner-up, while Team Shunno finished as the second runner-up.

The Grand Finale was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the International Convention Center of Daffodil International University in Birulia, Savar. The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship of Daffodil International University organized the event, with Cara Bangladesh and Axion Bangladesh supporting it as event partners.

The country’s top 10 startup teams competed in the final round. The winning teams received a total prize of BDT 100,000. The champion team will represent Bangladesh at the Global Startup World Cup in San Francisco, where it will have the opportunity to pitch for a USD 1 million investment prize. The top 10 teams also received the opportunity to be invited to San Francisco for a special networking session.

Md. Kamruzzaman Didar, Head of the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University and Country Director of Startup World Cup Bangladesh, is leading the Bangladesh chapter. Young entrepreneur Md. Ashik Khan, CEO and Founder of Live Shopping, is serving as the Program Director.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil Family and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University, joined the Grand Finale virtually. Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, attended as the Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

Justin Jackson, Director of Business Development at Pegasus Tech Venture, USA, attended as the Special Guest. Professor Dr. Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, and Mohammad Aminul Khan, Deputy Secretary of the ICT Division, also attended the programme.

Addressing the Grand Finale, Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir said, “The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship always strives to provide students with practical, real-world learning. As part of this continued effort, the department has organized Startup World Cup for the second time. Startup World Cup Bangladesh 2026 has created a new opportunity to showcase promising Bangladeshi startups internationally and establish Bangladesh’s innovative capabilities on the global stage.”

Justin Jackson said, “Startup World Cup is one of the world’s largest startup competitions. The competition is organized to showcase talented entrepreneurs from Bangladesh and other countries on the global stage.”

Startup World Cup Bangladesh is designed not only as a competition but also as an initiative to connect Bangladesh’s innovative young entrepreneurs with the international business community. Through the programme, young founders had opportunities to connect with investors, industry professionals and business partners, potentially supporting the expansion and growth of their businesses.

The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University has been regularly undertaking initiatives to strengthen Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem. Such programmes are expected to contribute to innovation, entrepreneurship development, investment and employment generation.
