Global technology company HMD has introduced its new feature phone, the HMD 101, at a retailer conference organised for mobile phone retailers in the western region of Bangladesh.

The conference was recently held at Johan Dream Valley Park & Resort in Jhenaidah, with more than 200 retailers from Jhenaidah, Kushtia and Chuadanga participating.

The information was disclosed in a press release sent to the media on August 16.

The conference featured detailed discussions on the HMD 101’s features, market potential and sales strategies. Its design, battery backup and user-friendly features were also presented to the participating retailers.

HMD Bangladesh Business Manager Kazi Al Amin and Selextra Limited Head of Sales Mamun Khan attended the event. Among the retailers, Chuadanga partner Mahabub Alam Rinku also spoke at the conference.

Officials from HMD and Selextra, the company’s local distributor, were also present. They said the HMD 101 was developed with the needs of general users in Bangladesh in mind. Long-lasting battery life, ease of use and an affordable price are among the phone’s key attractions, they said.

The HMD 101 is manufactured at Selextra’s own factory in Bangladesh and is priced at Tk 1,999.

Company officials said the retailer conference was organised to formally introduce the phone to the western regional market and strengthen its sales activities. They expressed hope that the initiative would strengthen HMD’s presence in local markets while making a reliable and affordable feature phone more accessible to consumers.
