To eliminate hassle and reduce long waiting times for outpatient department (OPD) care, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has officially rolled out an e-ticketing system. On Saturday (August 1), Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain and Health Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Ziauddin Haider, jointly inaugurated this digital healthcare initiative.
Implemented under the leadership of the institute's Director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin, the service aims to revolutionize patient care. Previously, patients had to arrive at the hospital at the crack of dawn to stand in long queues for hours to collect paper tickets. The new e-ticketing system completely bypasses this traditional queue system, making care access quick and efficient.
Under the new infrastructure, patients will only need to complete a one-time online registration. Once registered, all personal health metrics and historical hospital visit records will be safely archived in the database. Patients will not need to re-enter information during future visits, allowing doctors to access past medical histories instantly and deliver accurate treatment. This initiative marks a significant milestone in turning public hospitals patient-friendly, transparent, and modern.
