The government plans to install CCTV cameras in every classroom at secondary and higher secondary educational institutions as part of efforts to strengthen monitoring and improve the quality of education, Education and Primary Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has said.

On Monday, July 6, 2026, Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the 210th Foundation Training Course at the National Academy for Educational Management in Dhaka, the minister said a central monitoring cell would also be established to oversee classroom activities in real time.

He said the initiative aims to ensure that teaching is conducted properly and that classroom activities can be monitored whenever necessary through the proposed central system.

The minister added that a central monitoring cell would enable authorities to observe classrooms across the country and strengthen oversight of educational institutions.

Highlighting the importance of a healthy learning environment, Dr. Milon said many educational institutions still have unhygienic and poorly maintained toilets, discouraging teachers and students from using them. He stressed that all educational institutions must ensure clean and hygienic sanitation facilities, warning that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

He also emphasized the need to enhance the professional and social status of teachers, saying meaningful education reform requires attracting talented individuals to the teaching profession through structural improvements and greater recognition.

The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Wasim Md. Mezbahul Haque, Director General of the National Academy for Educational Management. Special guests included Additional Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Md. Shahjahan Mia and Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel.

Senior officials of the academy and participants of the 210th Foundation Training Course also attended the programme.
