Commemorative Stamp Released to Mark Historic Wari-Bateshwar

Bangladesh Post Office has released a commemorative postage stamp, a first-day cover, a data card, and a special cancellation seal to project the historical and archaeological significance of Wari-Bateshwar. Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam officially inaugurated these items today.

To promote the ancient history, rich cultural heritage, and archaeological significance of Wari-Bateshwar at home and abroad, the Bangladesh Post Office has released a commemorative postage stamp, a first-day cover, a data card, and a special cancellation seal. Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology as well as Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam officially inaugurated these commemorative items at his secretariat office today, Monday (July 6).

According to the postal department, the releases include a commemorative postage stamp worth Tk 10, a first-day cover worth Tk 10, a data card valued at Tk 5, and a specially designed cancellation seal.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister stated, "Wari-Bateshwar is one of the most vital archaeological landmarks of Bangladeshi history and civilization. Through this commemorative stamp and related publications, we can effectively present our rich heritage to the new generation, while further enhancing the global recognition of Wari-Bateshwar."

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bilkis Jahan Rimi, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division; Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology; and Kazi Asadul Islam, Director General of the Directorate of Posts, among other officials.
