Aiming to Transform $10-12 Billion Beauty & Personal Care Sector into a Manufacturing Hub and Attract Foreign Investment
3-Day International 'B-Beauty Tech Expo 2026' Set to Begin in Dhaka on July 16
The 3-day 'B-Beauty Tech Expo 2026', one of the country's largest international B2B trade exhibitions, will kick off on July 16 at ICCB in Dhaka to connect Bangladesh's beauty, cosmetics, personal care, and wellness industry with global manufacturing and technology. Organized by Wem Bangladesh, the expo will feature over 60 exhibitors and 120 brands from more than 8 countries.
One of the largest international B2B trade exhibitions in the country, "B-Beauty Tech Expo 2026", is scheduled to commence on July 16 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital. The organizer of the expo, 'Wem Bangladesh', disclosed this during a press conference held today at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).
Nasimur Rahman, Director of Wem Bangladesh Limited, detailed the event outlines during the press conference. Sheikh Mohammed Arif, Managing Director of Wem Bangladesh, and Rahima Sultana Rita, CEO of Harmony Spa, were also present at the briefing.
The organizers highlighted that the primary objective of this initiative is to guide Bangladesh's beauty and personal care industry toward a manufacturing-based industrial economy. Currently, the market size of Bangladesh's beauty and personal care sector stands at an estimated USD 10 to 12 billion, with potential annual growth of 6% to 9% in the coming years. Around 400,000 to 500,000 people are directly or indirectly employed across various related sectors, including beauty salons, spas, wellness centers, cosmetics retail, distribution networks, and packaging. Organizers hope that if proper investment and technology transfer are ensured through this expo, an additional 500,000 to 800,000 new jobs can be created within the next decade.
Currently, a massive amount of foreign currency is spent annually on importing premium cosmetics, skincare products, fragrances, active ingredients, beauty devices, and advanced packaging materials. Viewing this challenge as an opportunity, the B-Beauty Tech Expo 2026 is designed to serve as an international B2B business matching, investment, and technology transfer platform to enhance local production capabilities and attract foreign direct investment.
The 3-day exhibition expects participation from over 60 exhibitors and 120 domestic and international brands representing more than 8 countries, including Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and the UAE. More than 8,000 industry professionals and business delegates are anticipated to attend. The expo will also put a significant focus on integrating modern science and health technologies into the beauty sector.
