In a bid to resolve ongoing salary complexities, Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milan announced plans to introduce the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system for Madrasah teachers to ensure a smoother, more transparent, and efficient payment process in the future. Stressing the importance of transforming Madrasah education into a modern, research-driven, and skill-based system, the Minister assured that teachers will receive their regular salaries starting this July, along with two months of outstanding arrears.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at the 'Best Institutional Head and Outstanding Students Award Giving Ceremony' for the Fazil and Kamil levels under the Islamic Arabic University, held at the International Mother Language Institute in the capital on Tuesday (June 30). The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Islamic Arabic University. Abdul Khalek, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, and Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), attended as special guests.

Addressing the program, the Education Minister stated, "Since last September, around 17,000 teachers have been recruited through NTRCA, which was highly necessary due to the severe teacher shortage. The interim government expedited the recruitment process, which is commendable. However, they did not allocate funds for this in the budget."

He further added, "After forming the government, we found that BDT 501 crore was required, but the funds were unavailable. Because the interim government left no allocation in the budget, we could not pay two months' salaries to the Madrasah teachers. However, salaries will be regularized along with all arrears from July." Outsidrs expect this announcement to bring immense relief to the newly recruited Madrasah teachers who have been facing prolonged salary distress.

Highlighting the teacher shortage, the Minister noted that finding skilled educators in Islamic education has become a major challenge. To address this, he urged relevant institutions to become more active in curriculum development and quality enhancement. Emphasizing the integration of Fazil-Kamil education with mainstream higher education, he remarked that past structural and administrative limitations must be overcome. He called upon the Islamic Arabic University to play a more effective, research-oriented, and planned role to empower students to lead at national and international levels.

The event was also attended by the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr. Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Dr. Mohammad Ilyas Siddiqui, Treasurer Shahinul Islam, along with Vice-Chancellors of various universities, principals, teachers, and students from different institutions across the country.
