A colorful parade was held in Green City, the residential area of the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna, to mark Russia's Victory Day.
On Saturday, May 9th, Russian citizens working on the project organized the program to commemorate the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II and to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war.
Hundreds of Russian citizens working at the Rooppur project, along with their wives and children, participated in the parade. Participants carried festoons bearing pictures of the martyred soldiers of World War II, circled the entire Green City area, and paid their respects to their sacrifices.
The Russian citizens who participated in the event stated that the main objective of the program was to remember the martyred soldiers, to show respect for history, and to spread the message of peace and humanity.
The parade created a festive atmosphere throughout the Green City area. A special cultural program has also been organized in Green City in the evening to celebrate Victory Day.
