Google has released the third beta version of Android 17, the latest version of the Android operating system, for developers. The release comes nearly one month after the first beta in February and the second beta later that month. With the third beta, Android 17 has now reached “platform stability,” according to a report by GSMArena.

This beta version is available for download on Pixel 6 and later devices, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold handsets. Users enrolled in the beta program will receive the update over-the-air.

In a blog post, Google detailed the new features and improvements introduced in Beta 3, which also includes the March Android security patch. Notable features include:

  • Support for RAW14 image format, enabling high-quality image capture and editing
  • Option to hide app labels from the home screen
  • More refined audio routing for hearing assistance devices
  • Redesigned screen recording toolbar
  • Development of widget scaling for larger displays

The stable version of Android 17 is expected to be released in June.
