Google has introduced an experimental agentic AI platform called ‘CC’ to help families organise everyday tasks, plans and shared information. The AI agent can work with selected emails, calendars, task lists and documents to coordinate activities among family members.

According to a report by technology news site Engadget, CC has its own Google account, through which up to six members of a family can share selected information.

Users can decide which emails they want to share with CC. They can also forward individual messages when needed or set specific email addresses so that incoming messages are automatically routed to the CC account.

CC can create shared calendars and task lists that are accessible to participating family members. It can also send daily summaries covering upcoming events, scheduled activities and tasks that need attention.

The platform is designed to assist with practical and administrative tasks such as organising documents, filling out registration forms and preparing shopping lists. However, CC is specifically designed to seek user permission before taking action on their behalf.

Google initially launched the tool as an experiment in December last year. Earlier this year, the project was renamed and incorporated into the company’s Daily Briefing feature. Following requests from early testers, Google is now reshaping CC as a family-focused organiser.

Users can add CC to selected Google Drive folders or share specific files with the AI agent. They can also communicate directly with CC through a dedicated Google Chat window.

Google has outlined several privacy and security restrictions in its FAQ. CC cannot independently add or remove family members, nor can it access or search members’ private inboxes.

Existing CC users will be invited through prompts to upgrade their accounts and try the new tools. Google is currently maintaining a waitlist for new users interested in outsourcing parts of their daily planning and organisational tasks to the agentic AI system.
