Minister Mandates Moral Management, Mulls Zero Tolerance on Corruption
Extortion, tender manipulation, and illegal occupation will not be tolerated under any circumstances, warned Fakir Mahbub Anam, Minister of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology. He emphasized that any individual or group attempting to exert influence will face strict action, and no one will be spared, even if they have political affiliations.
The minister delivered this message on February 27, Friday, during a district-level officials’ coordination meeting at the Tangail District Commissioner’s Conference Hall, where he addressed government officers from various departments.
Fakir Mahbub Anam highlighted the government’s commitment to building a corruption-free, transparent, and accountable administration. He stressed the importance of vigilance to ensure that no irregularities, nepotism, or partisan influence affect administrative operations.
The minister urged officials to work in unity to meet public expectations while supporting the implementation of the Prime Minister’s development plans.
Focusing on anti-drug initiatives, he emphasized the need for increased vigilance to protect the younger generation from drugs and internet-based crimes, particularly online gambling, and requested collaboration from the police and relevant agencies in these efforts.
He further stated that public confidence is essential to establishing a citizen-friendly government. Citizens must feel assured that their votes are respected, and law and order are maintained. He remarked that through mutual cooperation, Tangail can be developed into a model district.
Concluding his remarks, the minister underlined that administrative support is vital for running a government that prioritizes public welfare. Ensuring transparency and accountability will accelerate the pace of development initiatives.
The coordination meeting was presided over by Tangail District Commissioner Sharifa Haque and attended by Police Superintendent Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sorkar, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, senior administrative officials, and district-level government officers.
