Ford Faces Fire Risk, Recalls Nearly 60,000 Vehicles in the U.S.
Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 59,006 vehicles in the United States over potential fire risks, according to a statement released Thursday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), reports Reuters.
The agency stated that engine block heaters in certain vehicle models could rupture, causing coolant leaks that may lead to short circuits and create a risk of fire.
The recall affects select models of Lincoln MKC, Explorer, Fusion, Bronco Sport, and Maverick vehicles.
However, Ford clarified that “no accidents or injuries have been reported so far due to this issue.” The company, according to the NHTSA, is taking “prompt action to eliminate potential risks.”
