The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is set to receive a new Director General on August 25. Joint Secretary Md. Mehedi Ul Sahid has been transferred from the Ministry of Public Administration to the Posts and Telecommunications Division to take up the post.
In a parallel move, Abdullah Al Mamun, Director General of BTRC’s Administration Wing with the rank of Additional Secretary, has been reassigned as a member under the Chief Adviser at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA).
The orders of transfer and appointment were issued through two separate notifications signed by Abul Hayat Md. Rafiq, Joint Secretary of the Deputation-1 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, on Monday, August 18.
The order did not specify which division of the commission Md. Mehedi Ul Sahid will head as Director General. He has previously worked across various branches of the Ministry of Public Administration, including the Administration-1 and Rules-4 sections. In addition, he also served in the Prime Minister’s Office as Assistant Private Secretary-1.
