Madrasah Students Set to Sharpen Digital Skills

A new initiative titled “Digital Skills for Students” has been launched to enhance technological expertise among madrasah students across the country. Under the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project of the ICT Division, a month-long training program has commenced at the Gorosthan Jamia Islamia Darus-Sunnah Madrasah in Tangail, where 160 students are receiving hands-on training in Microsoft Office applications and graphic design.

Initially, a total of 740 madrasah students from Chattogram, Cumilla, and Tangail will be trained under this program, which officially began on August 16. The implementation partners are Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD).

The training initiative has been introduced at the instruction of Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology. Its primary goal is to improve the digital proficiency of madrasah students, enable them to use productivity tools effectively, and help them acquire competitive skills for the future job market.

Organizers expressed optimism that the initiative will instill confidence in madrasah students in using modern technology and prepare them to secure a competitive position in both national and international job sectors. They noted that once fully implemented, the program will foster a skilled, smart, and technology-driven young generation in the country.
