BUBT Hosts Big Bang Briefing for Budding Scholars
A special seminar on the widely accepted scientific theory of the origin and evolution of the universe—the Big Bang—was held at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) on Tuesday, July 1. The event, titled “Cosmic History in Forty Minutes: An Introduction to the Big Bang Theory,” was part of the BUBT Vice-Chancellor Lecture Series and took place at the university's International Conference Hall.
The seminar was organized by the BUBT Research and Innovation Centre (BRIC) and featured Professor Dr. Saleh Hasan Naqib, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University, as the keynote speaker. He presented a clear and accessible explanation of the creation of the universe, the stages of cosmic evolution, and the scientific basis of the Big Bang theory, captivating the audience with his knowledge and clarity.
Special guest Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, remarked, “Seminars like this will help foster scientific thinking and a passion for research among students.”
In his presidential address, Professor Shanti Narayan Ghosh, Director of BUBT’s IQAC and BRIC, stated, “BUBT consistently creates opportunities for knowledge-enriching discussions and research to expand students’ understanding of fundamental concepts.”
The seminar was attended by deans from various faculties, department chairpersons, faculty members, staff, and students. It is considered a significant part of BUBT’s ongoing efforts to expand educational outreach and promote scientific inquiry.
