Musk Mentions Messaging Makeover with ‘Bitcoin-Style’ Encryption

Elon Musk has announced the launch of an entirely new messaging platform, XChat, which will operate using “Bitcoin-style” encryption technology. The platform, introduced by X (formerly Twitter), is being tested with modern messaging features including encrypted messaging, disappearing texts, file sharing of any type, and audio/video calling capabilities, according to a report by The Verge.

Earlier this week, the company had announced a pause in its encrypted Direct Messages (DM) service. However, Musk has now revealed that the upcoming platform is developed using the Rust programming language and incorporates advanced encryption similar to that used in Bitcoin.

According to TechCrunch, the feature has already been rolled out to some subscription-based users. However, there has been no official announcement regarding when it will be available to the general public.
