Infinix Unveils Solar Charging Technology at Mobile World Congress 2025
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Infinix has showcased its latest solar-powered charging technology at the Mobile World Congress 2025. The company introduced a smartphone with an integrated solar panel on the back, along with a specially designed solar charging case. The Verge reported the development.
Infinix has termed this innovation as "Solar Energy-Reservoiring" technology, which utilizes thin and cost-effective perovskite solar cells. The system also features "Maximum Power Point Tracking" technology, which ensures optimal energy storage without excessive heating. The current version can provide up to 2 watts of charging power.
In addition to the solar panel-equipped phone, the solar charging case is expected to appeal to users, particularly in areas prone to power outages. The case can be conveniently swapped like any regular protective cover, offering added flexibility.
Furthermore, Infinix has unveiled its second-generation color-changing E-Ink smartphone. Unlike conventional models, this version can alter colors not only while charging but also using its battery power. Powered by artificial intelligence, the device can change hues to match the weather or take inspiration from user-selected images.
