OceanGate operations suspended
OceanGate, the maker of the submersible Titan, has announced an indefinite suspension of all research and commercial activities. The company has made this announcement on its website. News BBC.
On June 18, the submarine Titan dived to the bottom of the Atlantic with five passengers to see the wreckage of the mysterious Titanic. After only an hour and a half of the journey, all communication with the submersible was lost. The US Coast Guard recovered the remains of the Titan from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean after combing for 7 consecutive days.
A few days after the accident, OceanGate, the manufacturer of the Titan, advertised the new expedition. After the tragic death of five riders, the company came under fire for advertising the campaign again.
In this situation, OceanGate announced the suspension of all its research and commercial activities indefinitely with a new advertisement. The company confirmed the matter on its website on Thursday. However, they did not say anything about the reason for the closure. However, it is believed that the company was forced to take such a decision after coming under fire from critics.
