To accelerate the country's technology-driven economy and enhance national capabilities, the day-long 'Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026' is set to be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. This international-standard summit is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

During a press briefing held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the conference room of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister of Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam presented the comprehensive preparations and detailed information regarding the summit to the media.

He stated that global economic transformation is taking place centered around Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the era of the ongoing fourth industrial revolution. Keeping this reality in mind, the core theme of this year's summit has been set as “AI-fication for Tomorrow's Economy”. The Minister noted that their core philosophy rests upon the seamless integration of three elements: “People • Business • Intelligence”. President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has kindly consented to grace the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.

The Science and Technology Minister informed that three important thematic sessions will be held during the day-long conference on November 5. The first session, starting at 12:00 PM, will feature detailed discussions by policymakers and experts on the trajectory, policies, skills, and infrastructural challenges of the AI revolution. At the same time, the second session held in the 'Hall of Fame' will focus on strengthening academia-industry partnerships and technology transfer strategies. Later at 3:00 PM, the third session will discuss the role of AI agents as "digital colleagues" and various aspects of local problem-solving.

A total of 142 exhibition stalls featuring national and international companies, technology providers, and innovators will be set up at the summit. Over 150 startups and tech companies will showcase their innovative concepts and projects. Additionally, innovative stalls featuring AI projects and prototypes run by students from 20 educational institutions (19 universities and 1 college) will be on display. Internationally, a total of 5 foreign exhibitor organizations—1 from the United States and 4 from Pakistan—will participate in the summit.

Fakir Mahbub Anam further informed that approximately 6,000 visitors and 2,000 invited guests, including 200 special guests from the Dhaka Chamber and the Ministry of Science and Technology, will attend the summit. Around 27 esteemed speakers and discussants, including domestic and international policymakers, industry experts, academics, researchers, corporate figures, and development partner representatives, will address the event. He expressed optimism that this strong joint initiative by the Ministry of Science and Technology and DCCI will play a groundbreaking role in the responsible transformation of AI technology in the country's industrial and commercial sectors and in building a sustainable AI ecosystem.

Speaking at the press briefing, Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain stated that the activities of the Ministry of Science and Technology are being advanced based on four core pillars. These include increasing the practice of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM education) from primary to university levels, transforming research knowledge and papers beyond mere theory into market-ready applications, building robust bridges between researchers, investors, and markets, and working separately on AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, nanotechnology, space research, and the blue economy. Furthermore, the Science Secretary mentioned that there are major opportunities to establish biotech parks to utilize the country's abundance of talented graduates and innovate new drugs and lifestyle products.

The press briefing was attended by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Md. Taskeen Ahmed, senior officials including additional secretaries of the science ministry, and media journalists.
