Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified live surveillance using advanced drones and body-worn cameras to prevent untoward incidents across industrial zones in Gazipur and Narayanganj. Amid ongoing worker unrest in the garment sectors, 12 platoons of BGB personnel were deployed on Tuesday (November 3, 2026) to maintain law and order.

According to BGB officials, 10 platoons have been stationed in the Safipur, Kaliakair, and Konabari areas of Gazipur, while 2 platoons are deployed in the Chashara area of Narayanganj. Additionally, sensitive industrial belts including Ashulia and Mirpur are being kept under strict monitoring.

To enhance real-time assessment and decision-making, BGB is emphasizing technology-driven surveillance. Drones are monitoring key intersections and main roads, while live video feeds from body-worn cameras worn by on-duty personnel are streamed directly to the Central Monitoring Cell at BGB Headquarters.

Officials confirmed that this integrated, camera-and-drone-based monitoring will continue until normalcy is restored.
