The Robi Bowler Hunt has identified 143 promising bowlers from across Bangladesh, with 21 declared winners following the final assessment and two others receiving special awards. The initiative began with more than 25,000 registrations and progressed through nationwide trials, training and performance evaluations to identify emerging pace and spin bowling talent.

The grand finale and award ceremony of the Robi Bowler Hunt was held today, 2 November, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Following trials at nine venues across the country, 143 promising bowlers were selected, including 57 pacers and 86 spinners. The group comprises 108 men and 35 women. The participation of aspiring bowlers from different parts of Bangladesh, including both male and female contestants, reflects the scale and inclusive approach of the talent-search initiative.

The selected contestants took part in the national-level selection round in Dhaka on 1 November. They underwent a day-long training programme before being assessed on their performances. Based on their skills and performance, 42 shortlisted bowlers qualified for the final round on 2 November. Experienced coaches and cricket experts evaluated their performances during the final trials to select the winners. A total of 21 participants won the competition, while two others received special awards.

The award ceremony was attended by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal Khan, BCB Chief Executive Officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, Robi Axiata PLC Head of Marketing Shawkat Kader Chowdhury, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam, and senior officials from both organisations.

Speaking at the event, BCB President Tamim Iqbal Khan said, “Identifying new talent and supporting their development are essential for the continued progress of Bangladesh cricket. Initiatives like the Robi Bowler Hunt provide promising cricketers with a valuable opportunity to showcase their talent and gain recognition. We appreciate Robi’s involvement in the development of cricket. I hope this initiative will inspire many more young bowlers to pursue their goals through dedication, discipline and hard work.”

Robi Axiata PLC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ziad Sattar said, “The Robi Bowler Hunt reflects our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young talent in Bangladesh. We believe talent can emerge from anywhere. Initiatives like this can give promising cricketers the opportunity to showcase their skills and move closer to fulfilling their dreams. Through our partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Robi aims to contribute to grassroots cricket development and inspire the next generation of cricketers in Bangladesh.”

Robi Head of Marketing Shawkat Kader Chowdhury said, “The Robi Bowler Hunt reflects our commitment to creating opportunities for promising bowlers. We believe this initiative will encourage more young people to pursue cricket and develop their talent.”

The Robi Bowler Hunt was officially launched on 15 September 2026. The nationwide selection process began in Sylhet on 27 September. Trials were held at eight venues across Sylhet, Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chattogram and two locations in Dhaka. Participants from Barishal were also able to take part at the Khulna venue.

Robi has previously organised Pace Bowling Hunt and Spin Bowling Hunt initiatives in partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. These programmes helped identify promising cricketers such as Ebadot Hossain and Rishad Hossain.
