Grameenphone Partners with Bangladesh Police for 10-Year Digital Tech Support

Country’s leading telecommunications service provider, Grameenphone, has signed a 10-year strategic partnership with Bangladesh Police to support the national law enforcement agency with dedicated connectivity and advanced digital services. The operator officially announced the agreement on Thursday (September 24).

Under the partnership, Grameenphone will manage connectivity services for Bangladesh Police’s official mobile number series (01320000000–01320299999) and various solutions-based numbers. Furthermore, the collaboration includes comprehensive connectivity and digital infrastructure support for key policing platforms, such as the Online GD system and the Crime Data Management System (CDMS).

The signing ceremony took place recently at the Bangladesh Police Headquarters in Dhaka. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Additional DIG (Headquarters), Bangladesh Police, and Helal Uddin Ahmed, Head of Law Enforcement Agencies Business, Grameenphone, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, BPM, and Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yasir Azman graced the event as chief witnesses, alongside Asif Naimur Rashid, Chief Business Officer, and Sayeda Tahya Hossain, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone.

Commenting on the deal, IGP Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, BPM, stated, "Reliable connectivity and technology are vital to our evolving operations. This partnership with Grameenphone will significantly boost our technology-enabled policing and strengthen public service delivery."

Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, added, "We aim to support Bangladesh Police with robust digital capabilities as their operational needs evolve. By applying technology responsibly and purposefully, we look forward to contributing to a safer and smarter nation."
