BAU Appoints Provosts to 10 Dorms
• New provosts appointed across 10 residential halls at BAU.
• Official orders cover six male and four female student dormitories.
• Two halls get 6-month tenures, eight halls get 2 years.
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has appointed new provosts across 10 residential halls to streamline administrative and academic dormitory management. The announcement was formalized through separate orders signed by the university Registrar, Agriculturist Dr. Md. Helal Uddin, on Thursday (August 20, 2026).
According to the official notifications, among the six male dormitories, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abul Manjur Khan takes charge of Shaheed Shamsul Haque Hall, Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain at Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall, Professor Dr. Raihan Habib at Fazlul Haque Hall, Professor Dr. Moha. Kamrul Hasan at Ashraful Haque Hall, Professor Dr. Mosabbir Ahammed at Shaheed Jamal Hossain Hall, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashiq-E-Rabbani at Maulana Bhashani Hall.
For the four female dormitories, Professor Dr. Mst. Kaniz Fatema has been appointed to Sultana Razia Hall, Professor Dr. Mukta Khan to July 36 Hall, Professor Dr. Sabina Yasmin to Krishikanya Hall, and Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain to Begum Khaleda Zia Hall.
The appointed faculty members assume duties starting Friday (August 21) in addition to their regular academic responsibilities. The provosts of Begum Khaleda Zia Hall and Krishikanya Hall will serve for six months, while the remaining eight provosts receive two-year terms. The provosts of five other residential halls remain unchanged.
