TikTok Tragedy: Two Killed by Train While Filming on Rail Tracks
Two young men were killed after being struck by a train while recording a TikTok video on a railway track in the Dhirashram area of Gazipur. The accident occurred at around 10:00 pm on Wednesday, 13 May.
Police were unable to immediately confirm the identities of the deceased individuals.
According to local sources, the young men were standing on the railway tracks near Dhirashram Railway Station while filming a TikTok video. At that time, the Teesta Express, traveling from Dewanganj to Dhaka, reached the spot and struck them, killing both on the scene.
Eyewitnesses believe that due to the darkness at night, they did not notice the approaching train.
Md. Kaiyum, Station In-Charge of Joydebpur under Bangladesh Railway, said that the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. In accordance with railway procedures, the bodies have been sent to Dhaka for post-mortem examination.
He further added that police are working to identify the victims.
