Bangladesh Railway experienced an overwhelming response on Sunday (May 25) as advance ticket sales for Eid-ul-Adha journeys began. Within the first 30 minutes of the sale for intercity trains in the eastern region, the server recorded 19.4 million hits, reflecting the high demand for homebound travel ahead of the religious holiday.

According to the pre-announced schedule, the online sale of tickets for June 4 eastbound trains started at 2:00 PM. Earlier the same day, at 8:00 AM, ticket sales for westbound trains commenced, drawing an even greater surge of activity with a record 27.6 million hits on the ticketing website.

Bangladesh Railway officials reported that a total of 34,020 tickets have been allocated for travel on June 4, including 16,576 seats on 24 trains serving the eastern region and 17,444 seats on 21 trains operating in the western region. By 2:30 PM Sunday, 31,547 tickets had been sold.

For the entire Eid-ul-Adha travel period, a total of 183,665 train tickets have been allocated across the country. As of 2:30 PM Sunday, 62,258 tickets had already been sold.

In line with the Railway's decision, tickets for June 5 will be available on May 26, and tickets for June 6 will be available on May 27.

For return journeys after Eid, advance tickets will be released as follows:

  • Tickets for June 9: Available on May 30
