Robi Axiata PLC has distributed cricket kits among 90 promising young players to encourage emerging cricketers. The kits were handed over to these budding athletes—known as ‘Young Tigers’—from more than 50 cricket academies across the country at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) office.

On Tuesday, 12 May, the operator said that former national team cricketer Shahriar Nafees, domestic cricket figure Shafaq Al Jabir, and national team spinner Taijul Islam handed over the kit bags to the young players. Representatives from the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Robi were also present at the event.

Through this initiative, titled “Ebar Notun Shopno Gorte Parbe Tumi” (Now You Too Can Build a New Dream), Robi aims to support grassroots-level cricketers. The company had earlier announced in March, during the Bangladesh–Pakistan ODI series, that it would provide “10 cricket kits for every 100 runs.”

Based on the total runs scored by both teams in the series, it was decided to distribute 90 cricket kits. The Bangladesh Cricket Board assisted in selecting eligible and promising players.

Organizers aspire that this initiative will help young cricketers achieve their dreams and contribute positively to the development of cricket in the country.
