Bangladesh has, for the first time, participated as an exhibitor at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026, jointly organized by the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association and the Export Promotion Bureau. The event is being held from May 5 to 7 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Malaysia, under the theme “Transforming the Future.”

At the exhibition, three BSIA member companies—Prime Silicon Technology Limited, Neural Semiconductor Limited, and Siliconova Limited—are showcasing their products, technologies, and services.

Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, visited the BSIA booth and expressed satisfaction, welcoming the initiative to present Bangladesh’s semiconductor potential on the international stage.

BSIA President M. A. Jabbar said that this marks the beginning of a new journey for Bangladesh’s semiconductor industry. He noted that it will create opportunities to attract global investment and build international partnerships.

It is worth noting that the exhibition was inaugurated on May 5 by Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. At the event, Ajit Manocha and Linda Tan highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and innovation.

During the event, the BSIA delegation also held a meeting with Wong, President of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association, to discuss potential collaboration and partnerships between the two countries.

Bangladesh’s participation in SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026 is being seen as a reflection of the country’s growing capability and ambition to integrate into the global semiconductor value chain.
