Advanced Dental Care Debuts in Dhanmondi
Bangladesh’s first full-fledged specialized dental hospital, Advanced Dental and Maxillofacial (ADM) Hospital, has officially begun operations in the capital’s Dhanmondi-2 area.
According to hospital authorities, the state-of-the-art facility will provide round-the-clock emergency services along with indoor, outdoor, and ICU care. With a team of more than a hundred physicians and specialist consultants, the hospital will offer comprehensive treatment for oral and dental diseases, including oral cancer, tumors, all types of jaw surgeries, orthodontic complications such as misaligned teeth, endodontic treatments, pediatric dental diseases, and a wide range of maxillofacial conditions.
The hospital was formally inaugurated on Friday, January 23, at the China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka by Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). Emphasizing the importance of infection prevention and control, he said, “Such an initiative in dental care is truly commendable. A high-tech dental hospital like this is a blessing for patients in Bangladesh. Infection rates remain high in most of our hospitals, and reducing them requires extremely cautious and disciplined practice.”
Special guests at the inauguration included Klevnoy Aleksandra Aleksandrovna, Director of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Dhaka. She assured that Russia and Bangladesh would work jointly with ADM Hospital and announced that Russia would open its doors for training opportunities for professionals associated with the institution.
BMU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mujibur Rahman Hawlader remarked that the hospital would help introduce Bangladesh’s dental sector to the global community in a new light.
ADM Hospital Managing Director Dr. Mostafiz expressed his determination to establish the institution as a global role model in dental healthcare. Vice Chairman and Principal of Sapporo Dental College Professor Dr. Nurul Amin stated that the hospital’s services would remain open to all, regardless of economic background.
Highlighting the hospital’s advanced technologies and range of services, ADM Hospital Chairman Major General (Retd.) Professor Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury elaborated on its vision and capabilities.
In the concluding segment of the event, consultants from various departments of the hospital delivered scientific presentations outlining their treatment protocols and specialized services.
