Hosting Horizon: 8th Summit Highlights Bangladesh’s Digital Growth
The 8th Hosting Summit 2026 was held on January 4 in Nikunja, Dhaka, focusing on addressing the challenges of the Fifth Industrial Revolution and advancing Bangladesh’s web hosting industry. Participants emphasized the potential of the country’s hosting sector, opportunities for entering international markets, cybersecurity, infrastructure development, and building a robust digital ecosystem through public-private collaboration.
The summit brought together senior officials from nearly 30 leading web hosting companies, as well as representatives from Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL), BASIS, ECAB, and the police cyber security unit.
The chief guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rahman from Prince Mugrin University, Madinah, Saudi Arabia, highlighted the importance of cybersecurity, while keynote speaker Abu Sufian Haider, a U.S.-based technologist, discussed global industry trends and innovation strategies.
Summit convener Md. Ekramul Haider stressed the need for modern infrastructure, increased use of artificial intelligence, and skilled workforce development for sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s hosting industry. He also emphasized that local hosting companies should be upgraded to international standards to play a more significant role in the country’s digital economy.
