CUET VC Mourns Passing of Begum Khaleda Zia
Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), has expressed deep sorrow and grief at the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister, wife of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, and a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s democratic politics.
In a condolence message, the Vice-Chancellor said that Begum Khaleda Zia represented a significant chapter in Bangladesh’s political history. He noted that her role in the advancement of democracy, preservation of constitutional continuity, and movements to establish the rights of the people would be remembered as historic contributions.
He further stated that with her demise, the nation has lost an influential political leader, creating a profound void in national life. Professor Dr. Bhuiyan prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and sought eternal peace for her in Jannatul Ferdous. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family members, relatives, and well-wishers, praying that Almighty Allah grant them strength, patience, and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
