High-Level Co-Creation Workshop Outlines Bangladesh’s Future Digital Roadmap
Senior government officials and international development partners convened in Dhaka on 3 November for a high-level co-creation workshop aimed at advancing the next phase of Bangladesh’s digital transformation strategy. The event was organized by Aspire to Innovate (a2i) under the ICT Division at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, with nearly fifty participants from diverse sectors.
A panel discussion titled “Bangladesh’s Digital Transformation: Roadmap for the Future” was held as part of the workshop. The session’s chief guest was Shish Haydar Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division. Speakers included Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador of Italy, and Haji Haris bin Osman, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam.
Among others present were Md. Abdur Rafiq, Project Director (Joint Secretary) of a2i and CEO of the Agency to Innovate; Abdullah Al Fahim, Program Management Lead of a2i; Susan Vize, UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh; and Dragan Popovic, Senior Programme Advisor (Governance) at UNDP.
Moderated by A.K. Sabbir Mahmud, Digital Architect Specialist at a2i, the workshop featured a team-based brainstorming session designed to co-create potential digital transformation solutions. Participants revisited and analyzed predefined problem statements, prioritizing the most pressing challenges with the help of interactive tools. Multisectoral teams drafted practical solution frameworks while mapping potential impacts and primary beneficiaries.
Throughout the session, participants engaged in group discussions facilitated by senior a2i officials, contributing perspectives to shape a holistic, future-ready digital transformation roadmap for Bangladesh.
