Honor Harnesses High-Tech with “Made in Bangladesh” Mission

Global AI device ecosystem company Honor is set to establish a manufacturing facility at Kaliakoir’s Smart Hi-Tech Park, marking the start of local production in Bangladesh. To this end, the company has signed an agreement with Smart Technologies (BD) Limited. The contract was signed by George Zhao, Honor’s South East Asia President, and Md. Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Technologies BD Private Limited.

A press release on 16 November stated that the state-of-the-art factory will strengthen local capabilities and make advanced mobile technology more accessible to consumers across the country. According to attached images, the agreement was originally concluded on 25 April. The two companies expect this partnership to inaugurate a new chapter in Bangladesh’s technology sector.

The factory, to be located in Kaliakoir’s Smart Hi-Tech Park, will benefit local consumers. Devices manufactured through this collaboration will carry the “Made in Bangladesh” label, reflecting a combination of global innovation and local capacity.

Commenting on the partnership, George Zhao said, “Bangladesh’s market is highly promising and rapidly growing. Through this partnership, by producing devices locally, we aim to bring Honor’s global AI innovations to more people in Bangladesh. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing local talent, production, and delivering high-quality devices domestically.”

Md. Zahirul Islam added, “We are proud to be part of Honor’s mission for the future. This manufacturing facility will create new opportunities, further strengthen local capabilities, and contribute to the country’s technological advancement. Through this partnership, we look forward to producing world-class products right here in Bangladesh.”

Honor officially began its journey in Bangladesh in 2023, and this local production initiative signals a significant step forward in the company’s regional strategy.
