UFTB–IUIU Strengthen Ties through Courtesy Call and Collaborative Commitment

Professor Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), who is currently visiting Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB). The meeting took place on Monday morning, 27 October, at the university campus in Kaliakoir, Gazipur.

The courtesy meeting was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, attended by former Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Professor Dr. M. Fazli Ilahi, UFTB Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, and Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan.

Following the meeting, faculty members and senior officials of the university welcomed Professor Simbwa. Later, a discussion session was held at the university’s conference room focusing on various aspects of mutual collaboration between the two institutions. All departmental chairmen of UFTB were present at the session.

Among the attendees were Dean of the Faculty of Security and Communication Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain; Chairperson of the Department of Educational Technology and Engineering Farhana Islam; Chairperson of the Department of Data Science and Engineering Tanzim Taharat Orpa; Chairperson of the Department of Cyber Security Engineering Rakib Hossain; Chairperson of the Department of Software Engineering Mashiur Rahman; Chairperson of the Department of Internet of Things and Robotics Engineering Suman Saha; and Chairperson of the Department of General Education Sujan Chandra Sutradhar.

During the meeting, both institutions discussed areas of mutual cooperation in innovation, research, and advanced technology exchange. At the conclusion of the session, Bangladesh and Uganda agreed to work together to enhance the skills of teachers and students in research and innovative solutions for future technologies.
