Janata Bank Debuts Digital ‘Taka Pay Card’ and E-Credit System
Janata Bank PLC, a listed company on the capital market, has launched its new NFC-enabled “Taka Pay Card.” The service was introduced on Sunday, 19 October, during the Youth Festival 2025 and Customer Service Week celebrations.
The new service was formally inaugurated by Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
Financial Institutions Division Secretary under the Ministry of Finance, Nazma Mobarek, attended the event as the special guest and launched the bank’s new E-Credit Management System for digital loan disbursement.
The program was presided over by the bank’s Chairman, Md. Fazlur Rahman, while Managing Director Md. Mojibur Rahman presented an overview of the bank’s current operations and achievements.
Deputy Managing Directors Md. Golam Mortuza, Md. Fayez Alam, Md. Nazrul Islam, and Md. Ashraful Alam, along with other senior officials, were also present.
In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury emphasized the importance of increasing credit flow to the SME sector.
Financial Institutions Division Secretary Nazma Mobarek urged bank officials to strictly follow the due diligence process to ensure proper customer selection before loan disbursement.
Chairman Md. Fazlur Rahman remarked, “With the introduction of the E-Credit Management System, the bank’s loan disbursement process will become fully digital, transparent, and faster.”
Managing Director Md. Mojibur Rahman also reaffirmed the bank’s determination to strengthen Janata Bank PLC further in the face of current challenges.
