AIS Athletics Amaze: JUST Kicks Off Sports Carnival 2025

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has launched the much-anticipated AIS Sports Carnival 2025, featuring player auctions and a variety of sporting events. Organized by the Department of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) in collaboration with the AIS Club, the carnival aims to engage students in co-curricular activities and promote physical and mental well-being.

The inaugural ceremony took place on Sunday, October 12, at 11:30 a.m. in the Professor Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building. The event was officially inaugurated by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid.

Addressing the attendees, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid remarked, “The importance of sports for maintaining a healthy body and mind cannot be overstated. Winning or losing is not crucial; participation in sports is what matters. Alongside academic pursuits, engagement in sports and co-curricular activities is vital for our students. I believe initiatives like this play a significant role in shaping well-rounded and competent graduates.”

The program was presided over by AIS Department Chairman, Dr. Md. Kamal Hossain, with Treasurer Professor Dr. Hosen Al Mamun attending as a special guest. Other notable attendees included Associate Professors Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam and Md. Shahajul Islam, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Assistant Professor Tarun Sen, and Lecturer Fazlul Rahman. The event was hosted by AIS students Md. Alif Ahmed and Apoorva Sarker.

Under the guidance of AIS Club President Ishtiaq Ahmed Siam, four teams participated in the player auction. The teams included Debit Dynamos, Credit Kings, Revenue Rangers, and Audit Avengers.

The carnival features an extensive lineup of sports, including football, cricket, badminton, table tennis, chess, card games, ball throwing, penalty shootouts, ludo, and pillow passing, ensuring a fun-filled and competitive environment for the students.
