OnePlus Unveils Locally-Made Nord Series Amid Monsoon Magic in Dhaka
Despite a day of light monsoon showers across the country, including Dhaka, OnePlus celebrated its summer debut in Bangladesh with a laser robo show at ICCB’s Noboratri on the evening of July 9. The event featured a captivating performance by the mysterious mascot ‘Una’ and marked the launch of two new smartphones in the OnePlus Nord series — the OnePlus Nord 5 and the OnePlus Nord CE 5.
OnePlus Bangladesh CEO Mank Wang and OnePlus Emerging Region Marketing Head Ellie Wang jointly unveiled the Nord 5 smartphones and a range of IoT devices in the presence of journalists, business partners, content creators, ramp models, gamers, and lifestyle influencers.
Wang later announced the official prices: the OnePlus Nord 5 will retail for BDT 53,999, while the Nord CE 5 is priced at BDT 35,099. Additionally, the OnePlus Pad 3 (12+256GB) will be available in Frosted Silver and Nimbus Grey for BDT 73,499, and the 16+512GB variant in Storm Blue will cost BDT 78,999. The Pad Lite is priced at BDT 29,499. OnePlus also previewed the upcoming release of its Smart Keyboard and Stylo 2. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Watch 3 in Emerald Titan is priced at BDT 33,999, and the 43mm variant in Black and Silver Steel is set at BDT 30,499. The OnePlus Buds 4 will be available in two colors for BDT 9,999.
Opening the event with the slogan “Up Your Game,” Ellie Wang described the Nord as “not just a smartphone but a movement—an idea, a belief, and a way of thinking—symbolizing speed, simplicity, and reliability.”
Following this, OnePlus Bangladesh’s Retail Director Rubaiyat introduced the new devices, highlighting that both phones are the first locally assembled OnePlus smartphones in Bangladesh, set to hit the market on July 16. Built for performance, the Nord 5 features a robust 6800mAh battery, promising two days of usage on a single charge. Its AI Night Portrait technology ensures flagship-level quality in solo selfies and group photos, even in low light, powered by a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main sensor, enhanced with rich HDR, natural lighting, and accurate skin tones.
OnePlus Bangladesh Digital Director Ariful showcased the standout features of the Nord CE 5, including a 7100mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing a full charge in just 56 minutes. Users can stream YouTube for 27 hours, scroll Instagram for 18 hours, and play PUBG for over nine hours on a single charge. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350-Apex chipset and features an advanced cooling system to ensure performance even during extended gaming. It will be available in Black Infinity and Marble Mist color variants.
Ruhani Salsabil Labonno joined other representatives including Mr. Ko, Mr. Shen, Ulert, Sabbir, and Rezwan during the photo session of the launch. The devices are available for pre-order from July 9 to 15, with perks such as one-year display replacement and raffle draw prizes, including the chance to win another device or receive a premium back cover.
All devices will be available at OnePlus’s official flagship stores, exclusive brand outlets, and online platforms such as Daraz, Pickaboo, and Gadget & Gear. OnePlus IoT devices will come with a one-year warranty.
It was also announced that ‘Una’ will visit 10 university campuses across the country, where OnePlus will set up experience centers to engage young consumers.
