Metro Resumes with Restrictions: No Meat Allowed on Eid Day Service

After a one-day suspension on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, metro rail services in Dhaka resumed on Sunday, June 8, from 8:30 AM, allowing city dwellers to travel across the capital. However, authorities have imposed strict restrictions on carrying sacrificial animal hides, raw meat, or cooked meat during metro travel.
In an official notice, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) stated that passengers will be thoroughly screened at all metro station entry points to ensure compliance with the directive.
"If any passenger is found carrying raw or cooked meat, they will not be allowed to enter the metro stations," the notification read.
The DMTCL also announced that from Monday onward, the metro rail will operate according to the schedule designated for public holidays.
