Cultivating curiosity for astronomical systems and modern aerospace technologies among youth, the grand finale of the 3rd 'Space Exploration Olympiad' concluded at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) campus. The national finals and valedictory ceremony took place on Saturday, 29 August 2026, bringing together 202 finalists selected through multi-stage online qualifiers from Bangladesh and overseas.

Designed beyond standard quiz formats, the competition curriculum catered to participants aged 6 to 16 across four progressive categories. Junior tiers explored fundamental astronomy, rocketry mechanics, and orbital satellites, while advanced groups solved complex challenges centered on space robotics, Martian rover architecture, space station operations, and futuristic space propulsion. Following extensive evaluations, 33 exceptional participants received medals and awards.

Addressing the closing session as chief guest, AIUB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saiful Islam stated, "Today's curious children are tomorrow’s aerospace engineers, scientists, and technology innovators. Hands-on exposure to space engineering deepens conceptual understanding and analytical abilities. AIUB is proud to support this initiative as the academic partner to nurture the nation's STEM foundation."

Special guest Dr. Syed Ashraf Uddin, Associate Professor of Physical Sciences at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), highlighted that early exposure to astrophysics and space exploration inspires students to pursue higher academic research. Ariful Hasan, President of the Space Innovation Camp, affirmed in his closing remarks that the platform aims to continuously scale its initiatives to equip Bangladeshi youth for international leadership in aerospace and scientific innovation.
