Broadcasting Breakthroughs at Bangladesh’s First ICBC Expo 2025
From traditional television to IPTV, and from set-top boxes to OTT platforms—the evolution of media technology took center stage as the curtain fell on ICBC Expo 2025, the first-ever international broadcasting and cable expo in Bangladesh. The three-day event concluded on Saturday with a vibrant cultural program held at the western temporary tent hall of the Bashundhara Convention Center in Dhaka.
The landmark expo brought together broadcast and telecom engineers from countries including India, Vietnam, and China, who joined local industry leaders in exploring the future of media technologies.
Showcasing the latest in digital communication, smart cable solutions, and broadcasting services, the event featured participation from a wide range of stakeholders—television channels, broadband internet service providers, cable operators, OTT solution providers, and software developers.
Organized by the Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB), the expo provided a rare opportunity for industry participants from even the remotest parts of the country to interact with global technology leaders. Many noted that such technological exposure previously required visits to West Bengal or China, but the expo brought this experience to their doorstep for the first time.
Participants expressed optimism about the event’s impact. Representatives of various companies revealed that numerous B2B meetings had taken place during the expo, hinting at potential matchmakings and partnerships. Television broadcasters also saw promise in the event’s capacity to create a new milestone in achieving transparency in measuring TRP (Television Rating Point).
As one participant remarked, “This expo gave us access to technologies and conversations that we had only heard about before. Now we are not just catching up—we are preparing to lead.”
The ICBC Expo 2025 marked a significant stride for Bangladesh’s broadcasting sector, paving the way for innovation, collaboration, and smarter digital communication across the nation.
