BYD Unveils Ultra-Fast EV Charging Platform, Doubling Tesla’s Speed

Wang Chuanfu, the founder of BYD, has announced the development of a new "Super E-Platform", which will offer an impressive 1,000-kilowatt charging capacity—twice the speed of Tesla’s latest 500-kilowatt Supercharger. This breakthrough technology aims to reduce EV drivers’ concerns about charging time and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.
Initially, the new charging technology will be integrated into two models—the Han L sedan and the Tang L SUV, with prices starting at 270,000 yuan. BYD has also outlined plans to establish over 4,000 ultra-fast charging stations across China. However, the company has not disclosed the timeline or investment details for this ambitious project.
In 2024, BYD sold 4.2 million vehicles and has set a target of 5 to 6 million vehicle sales for 2025.
