Bridging tertiary engineering education with real-world enterprise requirements, the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) executed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with software and IT infrastructure provider GoPlane Limited.

The formal signing ceremony, titled ‘Academia–Industry Collaboration: MoU Signing Ceremony’, took place at the university's administrative conference hall on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

University Grants Commission (UGC) Member Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdullah-Al-Mamun graced the occasion as Chief Guest, with UFTB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Moktar Ali presiding over the plenary. GoPlane Limited Director Md. Raisul Islam and Managing Director Mirza Asif attended as Special Guests. High-level corporate delegates from Walton, Mojaru, Robotech Valley, Batterylow Interactive, BdREN, PeopleNTech, Felicity IDC, DataSoft, BRACNet, and KPJ participated alongside faculty and engineering cohorts.

Addressing the congregation, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun stated that regulatory bodies and universities are restructuring academic infrastructure to elevate the ICT sector's national GDP contribution to 10 percent within the next five years. To operationalize a knowledge-driven digital economy, degree curricula are integrating Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Robotics, Automation, Data Science, and Nanotechnology.

He emphasized that matching academic output with the national target of generating 200,000 technology jobs annually requires institutions to transition beyond theoretical pedagogy into active enterprise incubation and industry internships.

Detailing sovereign fiscal interventions, Prof. Mamun disclosed that a Tk 500-crore Startup Fund has been proposed in the FY 2026–27 budget to support young founders, complemented by an Tk 800-crore creative economy blueprint incorporating sovereign allocations and corporate social responsibility (CSR) mobilization.

He highlighted upcoming pedagogical initiatives, including the proposed ‘One Teacher, One Tab’ program, while urging cross-sectoral development of IoT and Big Data integrations required to build sustainable "Smart AI Cities."

Presiding over the session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Moktar Ali stated that dynamic enterprise partnerships are vital to align graduate skill sets with contemporary corporate demands. He affirmed that the framework with GoPlane Limited establishes an enduring bridge for collaborative R&D, patent incubation, and experiential learning.

The event featured the operational rollout of the "UFTB Directory App," an institutional communication software built entirely in-house by the university’s ICT Service Office. Coordinated by UFTB's National and International Collaboration Cell, the convention concluded with a high-impact interactive panel connecting corporate leaders with graduating engineering students, official sources confirmed. //DBTech/BDUSI/SMP/MIST//
