Underscoring emerging frontiers in information technology, renewable power systems, enterprise logistics, and smart infrastructure, Spanish investors and industry captains have identified immense cross-border investment scope in Bangladesh's advancing technology ecosystem. The prospects were detailed during a bilateral trade summit titled ‘Bangladesh: A Strategic Partner in the Global Economy’, held in Madrid, Spain, on Thursday, 24 September 2026, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) announced via an official dispatch on Friday.

Addressing the congregation, President of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce Ángel Asensio characterized Bangladesh as one of Asia's most resilient and digitally expanding consumer markets. Highlighting technological and environmental modernization, Asensio outlined that Bangladesh presents an estimated $172 billion green and sustainable investment landscape across smart logistics, clean transit networks, climate-smart agritech, and automated waste-to-energy infrastructures running through 2030. He emphasized that European advanced engineering, software integrations, and clean-tech capabilities can accelerate Bangladesh’s industrial diversification.

Appealing to global technology conglomerates, FBCCI Administrator Md. Fazlul Hoque affirmed that policy frameworks are aggressively incentivizing tech-driven foreign capital inflows. "The government is proactively engineering investment-ready corridors for high-capacity renewable installations, automated logistics backbones, and data infrastructure. Strategic initiatives include providing industrial land plots and guaranteed long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for clean energy ventures," Hoque said, reassuring foreign enterprises of strong financial yields despite localized operational challenges.

In response to an official invitation from the FBCCI delegation, Asensio confirmed that the Madrid Chamber of Commerce is actively finalizing the deployment of a high-level trade and technology delegation to Bangladesh this coming November to explore direct joint ventures.

The summit was attended by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Spain Md. Masudur Rahaman, along with panel contributions from EuroCham Bangladesh President Nuria Lopez, International Trade Consultant Pablo Araujo, Executive VP of Molins Tareq Elba, and Recover Global Sustainability Director Ana Rodes. Virtual keynote presentations detailing investment incentives and technological infrastructure readiness were delivered by Invest Bangladesh member Nahian Rahman Rochi and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice-Chairman & CEO Mohammad Hasan Arif.

The bilateral event concluded with a high-level B2B technology networking symposium. A 26-member business delegation led by FBCCI Administrator Fazlul Hoque is currently executing an 11-day European investment mission to draw foreign direct investment (FDI) into emerging frontier sectors.
