Govt Launches 'Bhumi Dristi App' with Geo-Fencing to Ensure Attendance at Land Offices

The Ministry of Land has officially launched the 'Bhumi Dristi App', a tech-driven monitoring system designed to ensure the physical presence of officials, enhance accountability, and streamline field-level land administration services. Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu inaugurated the application as the chief guest during a event held at the Ministry's conference room today.

Speaking as the special guest, State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin explained that the system integrates 'Geo-fencing' technology. By mapping virtual geographic boundaries around each land office, the app only enables check-in and check-out features when an employee is physically located within their assigned workplace perimeter.

Key Features and Pilot Implementation:

• Pilot Coverage: The system is currently being piloted across 610 offices in 6 districts—Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Bogura, Rajshahi, and Chattogram—covering 919 field officials.

• Automated Red Alerts: If an official leaves the office perimeter during working hours without prior authorization, an automated red alert will trigger on the central oversight dashboard.

• Site Visit & Leave Integration: Officials leaving for official inquiries or field inspections must log their cause using the 'Site Visit' option. Leave applications can also be processed directly through the app.

The Ministers emphasized that physical inspection of field-level land offices across union to district levels is time-consuming. Location-based digital verification solves oversight hurdles, ensuring seamless citizen service delivery.

The inauguration was presided over by Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry A S M Saleh Ahmed, with senior ministry officials present alongside field officers joining virtually from the six pilot districts.
