NSDA Conducts First-Ever Task Analysis and Occupational Mapping for 'Chinese Language'

DHAKA, August 9, Sunday: To modernize skill development and align workforce capabilities with global industry needs, the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) has successfully completed the task analysis and occupational mapping for the "Chinese Language" occupation for the first time in Bangladesh.
Given the growing commercial, economic, and technological ties between China and Bangladesh, the initiative aims to treat Chinese language proficiency not merely as a linguistic skill, but as a specialized, tech-enabled professional occupation. By integrating modern language technology and structured frameworks, the program seeks to address the surging demand for bilingual professionals across tech and manufacturing sectors.
The roadmap includes a four-day curriculum development workshop from August 16–19, followed by a validation session on August 25. Upon completion, NSDA-registered training institutes will formally launch accredited Chinese Language courses.
Dr. Nazneen Kawsar Chowdhury, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of NSDA, presided over the closing session. She emphasized, "To thrive in an evolving labor market, we must equip our youth with future-ready skills. By leveraging language technologies alongside formal training, we can open new employment horizons both domestically and internationally. Task analysis ensures our assessment and certification methods remain industry-driven and globally competitive."
The workshop also explored prospective Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Chinese universities for joint certifications. Furthermore, the competency framework is being mapped to Levels 2 and 3 of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF), equivalent to HSK Levels 1 and 2 of the Chinese Language Test.
