Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & IT, and Science & Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, has pledged to set up computer labs phase-by-phase in every school alongside establishing a Technical Training Center (TTC) in Dhanbari Upazila, Tangail. He also urged local entrepreneurs to form language clubs teaching Japanese, Chinese, and English to transform local youth into skilled global human resources.

The Minister made these remarks on Friday (July 3) after arriving in his constituency, Dhanbari, from Dhaka, participating in eight extensive programs over nearly eight hours. Throughout various wayside rallies, public meetings, and business events, he delivered strong messages focusing on development, good governance, and technology-driven education.

Announcing a zero-tolerance policy against extortion, illegal occupation, corruption, drugs, and gambling in the Dhanbari-Madhupur region, the Minister stated, "There will be no room for crime in this area. Law enforcement agencies have been strictly instructed to take stern actions."

During his day-long visit, local residents, including children, women, youth, and the elderly, greeted the Minister with flowers. Members of the Garo and Koch indigenous communities welcomed him with their traditional cultural performances.

Following the Juma prayers, Minister Anam inaugurated the soil-filling project at Dhanbari Nawab Eidgah and playground by cutting soil with a spade. Dhanbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nurjahan Akhter Sathi joined him during the inauguration.

Addressing separate rallies at four school and madrasa grounds, the Minister expressed his gratitude to the locals for electing him with a huge margin. At a rally in Jadunathpur, he emphasized that the trust of the Dhanbari-Madhupur people allowed him to serve as an MP and Minister, promising to repay that trust through massive development.

"The current government, since taking office, has prioritized infrastructure, communication networks, education, and religious institutions. All logical demands will be fulfilled chronologically," he said, adding that sub-standard work from contractors will not be tolerated. He urged citizens to report any irregularities directly to the authorities.

Fakir Mahbub Anam further stated that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman entrusted him with three ministries, and his sole focus is now the development of his constituency. He noted that the extensive list of demands raised by locals proves that development was neglected over the past 17 years. Instead of making empty promises, he aims to work with realistic plans.

Highlighting safety and security, the Minister said, "We must build a society where women, children, and ordinary citizens can move around without fear."

Addressing the business community, he urged them to move away from the past culture of seeking high profits from minimal work and to run businesses on fair margins instead. He called upon both the winning and losing candidates of local elections to work together to turn Dhanbari into a model Upazila.

Late at night, around 11:30 PM, the Minister concluded his tour by laying the foundation stone for the Dhanbari Upazila Business Cooperative Society’s new building and attending a reception for the newly elected executive committee.

Dhanbari Upazila BNP President Principal M Azizur Rahman, BNP National Executive Committee Member Advocate Md. Shamsuzzaman Suruj, and Md. Enamul Haque (VP) accompanied the Minister during the visit, along with local public representatives, government officials, and political leaders.
