Bangladesh is set to host its first Dhaka Discount Fest 2026, a three-day retail festival that organizers say will be one of South Asia's largest discount-focused shopping events. The festival will feature 250 local and international brands, offering discounts of up to 75 percent on selected products.

The announcement was made at a press conference held on Wednesday at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka.

The event will take place from December 10 to 12 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon.

According to the organizers, participating brands will offer discounts of up to 75 percent, along with special promotions, flash sales and limited-time deals on selected products and services.

The press conference was attended by Project Director Dr. Md. Taslim Amin Shovon, Head of Operations Shafiqul Islam, and Chief Facilitator of the Women Empowerment Division Jinnat Ara Bari.

The organizers said brands from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka are expected to participate. The event aims to bring multiple brands under one roof, enabling consumers to compare and purchase products at competitive prices.

Dr. Taslim Amin Shovon said the festival will serve as a platform to strengthen connections between brands and consumers while helping boost Bangladesh's retail market.

Shafiqul Islam said the event would create new business opportunities for both domestic and international brands by expanding customer reach and market access.

Highlighting women's participation, Jinnat Ara Bari said the festival would provide women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their brands before potential buyers, corporate clients, distributors and business partners.

The organizers also announced that exhibitors booking stalls by July 16 will receive special discounts. If the Dhaka event proves successful, similar discount festivals are planned for Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna next year.
