Five lucky winners of 'Nagad Islamic'—the Shariah-compliant digital financial service of mobile financial service Nagad—have arrived in Jeddah to perform the holy Umrah. They landed in Jeddah at 10:10 AM (Bangladesh Time) on Tuesday, the 16th June, after departing from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 3:15 AM on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.

Nagad Islamic is bearing all the expenses for this pilgrimage.

Throughout the month of Ramadan, users of the Nagad Islamic wallet who made transactions of BDT 3,000 or more (excluding person-to-person transfers) stood a chance to win this package. Out of millions of participants, five fortunate winners were selected: auto-rickshaw driver Md. Zubayer Hossain, mason Md. Shahgahan from Dhaka, farmer Md. Manik from Lalmonirhat, tea seller Ali Akbar Sheikh from Khulna, and contractor Md. Redwan Hossain from Chapainawabganj. Before leaving, Zubayer and Manik shared their emotional gratitude towards Nagad for making their lifelong dreams come true.

On Monday, a small event was organized at the Nagad office to hand over travel documents to the winners. Motasem Billah, the central bank-appointed Administrator of Nagad, stated, "We are thrilled to enable lower-income individuals to perform the holy Umrah. Nagad Islamic is not just a payment platform; it values our customers' religious emotions." Managed under a complete Islamic Shariah Board, Nagad Islamic allows users to enjoy interest-free digital transactions.
