Abul Hasnat Muhammad Anwar Pasha has announced plans to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) to make National Identity Card (NID) services more accessible and citizen-friendly.

On Monday (May 4), after assuming office, he visited the rooms of officials within the division. He also spoke with citizens who had come to receive services, in his capacity as the newly appointed Director General of the National Identity Card Registration Wing.

During the visit, he stated that modern technology now essentially means artificial intelligence, and that AI can play a crucial role in reducing public suffering. He emphasized that the highest level of technology utilization would be ensured to simplify NID services further, and that implementation would proceed through discussions with all stakeholders.

He added that plans are underway to introduce digital and AI-based solutions so that, in the future, citizens will not need to visit offices to access services. This is expected to make service delivery faster and more hassle-free.

It may be noted that, through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on April 26, he was transferred from the Planning Division and appointed as the Director General of the NID Wing.
