Fire Service Goes Digital: E-Fire Licensing Streamlines Service Delivery
To reduce public suffering and modernize service delivery, the Fire Service and Civil Defence has introduced an e-fire license system, marking a full shift to a digital platform.
Ending the long-standing manual process, the fire licensing service has officially gone fully digital from Friday, May 1. From now on, citizens will be able to apply for new licenses, renewals, and reassessments online from home. With this transition, the traditional manual licensing system has been completely discontinued.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence stated that all key processes such as new license applications, renewals, and re-evaluations can now be completed online without physical visits. As a result, all manual or traditional application acceptance procedures have been stopped from today. From application submission to license issuance, the entire process is now accessible to the public at their fingertips.
Earlier, the service was inaugurated on Thursday, April 30, at the conference room of the EOC building of the Fire Service and Civil Defence in Mirpur-10 by Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal.
At the inauguration ceremony, the initial speech was delivered by the head of the e-fire license implementation team and Director (Operations and Maintenance) Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mahmudul Hasan. He sought cooperation from all concerned to ensure the success of this modern service initiative.
Senior officials of the department joined virtually and highly praised this new digital initiative. Director (Administration and Finance) Md. Shahid Atahar Hossain, Deputy Director (Administration and Finance) Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Director (Chattogram Division) Md. Jasim Uddin, and Deputy Director (Rangpur Division) Anwarul Haque shared their views and positive feedback during the event.
