A theft incident involving computers and various electronic equipment has occurred after breaking the lock of a school room in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. The incident took place on the night of Wednesday, April 29, at Bharadoba High School in the upazila.
According to school authorities and local sources, teachers and staff left the institution after school hours on Wednesday afternoon. Early the following morning on Thursday (April 30), the school guard, Md. Meher Ali, arrived and found that the collapsible gate and the computer room lock had been broken. Upon entering the room, he discovered that three computers, three CPUs, six keyboards, five mice, one router, and other equipment had been stolen.
In connection with the incident, the Assistant Head Teacher of the school, Biren Chandra Roy, filed a written complaint with Bhaluka Model Police Station.
Head Teacher Md. Azizul Haque stated that the estimated value of the stolen items is approximately Tk 300,000. Local resident Ashiqur Rahman Manik described the incident as deeply unfortunate and urged the authorities to take the matter seriously and ensure swift action.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhaluka Model Police Station, Mohammad Zahidul Islam, said that a complaint has been received regarding the theft at the school and necessary action will be taken following an investigation.
Ashiqur Rahman Manik, Founding Joint Convener of the student wing of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, also expressed concern over the incident and called on the administration to address the matter with due importance and take prompt action.
